What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic care is the practice of using spinal alignment to alleviate a wide variety of physical ailments, including muscle strain, neck pain, chronic back pain, and more. This is accomplished by adjusting the position of the spinal column to its proper shape, and reducing pressure on the spinal nerves, providing a non-invasive solution for pain relief.  When your body is in proper balance you can function at your best.

Pediatric

“The trauma from the birth process remains an underpublicized and therefore significantly under-treated problem." -G. Gutmann

Recognizing and removing nerve dysfunction is crucial to help your child grow and develop at their best.

Signs of nerve dysfunction:

  • Irritability/colic

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Trouble feeding/latching (impaired sucking or head position)

  • Reflux/spitting up frequently

  • Delayed developmental milestones

The first year of your child's life is full of growth and development. Not only does 65% of neurological development occur during this time, your child's spine also lengthens by 50%. As your child's spine grows, spinal curves develop. These curves are necessary for movement, up right posture, balance, and shock absorption. Being in alignment during this time lays down the proper foundation for later in life.

Pregnancy

Over half of women experience lower back pain during pregnancy.

Pregnant women experience many changes and must adapt to accommodate for the increased load as the baby grows. Hormonal changes relax the supporting tissues of the spine and women usually widen their stance and increase their lumbar lordosis (lower back curve). Maintaining proper alignment of the spine and pelvis can help ease labor times and make for a more comfortable delivery. Chiropractors can adapt their techniques for pregnant women and have tables that allow women to lay face down.

Adults

Sitting at a desk, sports injuries, repetitive tasks, stress, falls, and aging all contribute to subluxations (spinal misalignments).

Chiropractic uses a whole body approach to help your body function at its best. Our bodies are designed to be self-healing and self regulating. Chiropractors embrace this by restoring your body's optimal function through spinal correction. Chiropractors treat the entire person by diagnosing and correcting the structural and nutritional imbalances in the body. Stretches and exercises, as well as home care recommendations, are given to help you maintain your adjustment and feel good between visits.
